 Patricia Travers: Poet & Author
Bachelor's Degree in Applied Communications in Professional Writing
& Certification in Journalism

Patricia Travers is a 1st year Gen X'er who is living in Alberta, Canada. Currently a Budtender, Patricia is pursuing her retirement plan of becoming a full-time writer. When she isn't working on a creative writing project, you can find her in her garden talking with her crows.

The Travers Publishing House was founded in 2006 by Patricia Travers. In dire necessity to complete her practicum, Patricia created the Travers Publishing House and published her first two books, Amara and Ursula's Umbrellas.

In addition to this, she created a book called Night Time Whispers, which was a collaboration with her daughter's kindergarten class. Patricia had each student draw a picture to match each of the poems that would be included in the book.  Then she carefully chose three pictures from every student to appear in the book. Together with her community, they did a fundraiser and purchased a copy of the book for each student. Patricia's vision and message were to give it your best and overcome your limitations. Patricia herself struggled horribly in school as a child, but overcame the limitations.  After graduating, the Travers Publishing House became a creative platform for her work.

Thoughts & Values

Amara the Oracle

Amara is an oracle in the form of a book using the mystical divination technique called Stichomancy.

Ursula's Umbrellas

Ursula loves umbrellas. She has an umbrella for almost every occasion. People think she is silly because she lives in a desert where it rarely rains.

Church Street ...
Where Hope Grows

While meandering Church Street in Edmonton's inner city, Patricia interviewed over 70 people and turned their stories into poetry and prose. Accompanied by a photographer, this book is filled with beautiful images that capture some of Edmonton's historical buildings and people.

Slowly growing my sociability.

Disclaimer: Patricia is a first-year Gen Xer, so she is most likely to offend someone at some point, and therefore, she self-proclaims being culture-cancelled.

"Becoming an educated woman is important to me. I grew up not knowing my worth. And now I do."

~Patricia Travers

"When I was a child, I would sit for hours looking through encyclopedias. They were my introduction to the world outside my home. "

"Careful what you allow to influence your thoughts. It does matter."
